Um, What Was That?

Daily writing prompt
Describe something you learned in high school.

Besides German, English, French and basic math, high school didn’t teach me a lot. Listening to the teachers and reading books didn’t do anything for me. The knowledge I was supposed to gain didn’t stick with me because even to this present day, classroom education is not my way of learning.
Oh, right. What school did teach me is, that some teachers are really cruel if they don’t like you, or, that others really don’t give a rip whether or not you learn and understand a subject, because they only show up for this mandatory circus to cash their paychecks. [We did have a couple of awesome teachers, too, who really cared].
Everyday life was, and still is, the best and most valuable teacher. There have been some hard lessons in the past, but you best believe, that they will stick with me til kingdom come.

Um, high school?….Wasn’t there something?…..Oh! Thank goodness a very long time ago!

A-Z Challenge: Forgiveness

Throughout my time here on WordPress, I may have mentioned a time or twenty, that I’m not a fan of people. Clearly, I didn’t just wake up one morning with a made up mind. A few encounters in the past, let’s call them very unpleasant, had the majority to do with everything. Those people taught me painful lessons, no one cares to learn voluntarily. But, it’s water under the bridge now, and I do my best to ignore those dark spots in my otherwise coloful painting of life.
Once in a while I do have flashbacks of certain moments, and it requires conscious effort not to let anger or sadness take control of me. This is, where forgiveness comes into play. It is high time to forgive those women and men for their wrong-doing. Forgive them, not for their sake, but for my own peace of mind. This too, will be a process and I’m ready to take the first step.

Name That Tune

Daily writing prompt
If you could have something named after you, what would it be?

My first thought is, to have a song named after me. Thinking back to my 20s and 30s there’s plenty of material, to write a great country song about. If those minor and major mishaps can be given a positive spin, and be turned into a life lesson, I may be on to something? Along with a catchy melody and my first name somewhere in the song’s title, there might be the next hit in the making. Et voilà, my name [and story] would be unforgettable. Unrealistic, of course, but the thought is entertaining, don’t you think? Have a lovely Sunday!
