From My Window

My random question generator wants to know…

What view would you most like to have out of your window?

A view of the ocean would be amazing. How could I not have a positive, inspired and happy start to each day with a beautiful view like that? Happy Friday 😊

Personal Highlights of 2025

Daily writing prompt
What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

Good morning and happy Sunday to begin with…
In review of this year, two positives come to my mind immediately, being

our cruise with the Vasco da Gama from May 13th to May 20th
as well as
Lilly’s move from the streets of Italy into my heart and home on June 12th

πŸ›³ I am thankful beyond measure to my mom. She made a second cruise experience possible, not only allowing me to see new places and gather lasting impressions, but more importantly to create lovely memories from the time we spend together in various beautiful locations.

πŸ• What greater feeling is there, than to fall in love? Lilly captured my heart the minute I first laid eyes on her. This sweet, little whirlwind adds so much joy to every day, it’s amazing. I love Lilly to bits and am unbeliebably grateful, that she chose me (with Aubree’s help) to give her love, health, safety and an abundance of happy moments for the rest of her life.

We all know, that each year has good days and better ones. True is also, that ‘the dark days’ are a part of my life as well. Luckily they’ve been merciful this year, spread far and few between. That by itself is a blessing. Have a lovely Sunday!!

Love Without Budget

Daily writing prompt
Name the most expensive personal item you’ve ever purchased (not your home or car).

The most money I ever spent was not for an ‘item’, it was on one of my puppy girls named Mandy. During the last three years of her life, she developed a heart condition that required regular monthly checkups, xrays, blood work and a shot to keep her as healthy as possible. And no, don’t go there, I was not tormenting her. The doctors at our trusted animal hospital assured me every time, that she was not suffering and still had a good quality of life. They would never have allowed for Mandy to endure pain and suffering, and neither would I have, ever. Period. Okay? In total, over the years I spend roughly $30.000 for her treatments as well as the at home medications. You may gasp for air now, and that’s fine. Wouldn’t you do everything you could for your children? Well, my dogs are my fur kiddos and the same concept applies. Ridiculous? By all means, have your opinion. I don’t care. My dogs have always been, and always will be, the greatest joy and blessing in my life. Their well being significantly adds to my own. And the love I have for ‘my girls’ doesn’t come with a budget or a price tag attached. I will gladly give all I can afford, to keep them healthy and happy. Because my heart beats for dogs, and that won’t ever change. Have a lovely Sunday!! πŸ₯°

Not Even In Theory

Daily writing prompt
What would your life be like without music?

The thought of day-to-day life without music is unpleasant, a bit scary actually. From toddler age onward, music has always been an important part of me. Whether I listen to my favorite songs or sing them myself, music is a constant companion, more or less every day. Not only can my favorite tunes enhance my happiness, they are also a great comfort during sad or overwhelming periods, they take me on a stroll down memory lane, or calm my mind when life gets complicated upon occasion. Going through all the ups and downs without music will hopefully remain a theoretical scenario. While life without my favorite songs would be manageable, of course, the number of my “down days” would likely increase significantly. And that is something I can most definitely do without. In short, life without music, let’s not go there, not even in theory.

Going Home – Tyler Joe Miller

I haven’t been listening to my favorite songs lately. Usually that’s a sign, that another round of “down days” is on its way. Not so this time, I’m happy to say. Because today I found a new-to-me song. It’s called “Going Home” by Tyler Joe Miller. And yep, it’s a country tune, go figure πŸ˜‰
I heard it once, not even all the way to its end, and I was hooked. There’s something about country music that just makes me happy. My life in America may be over, but my heart will always beat for country music. And no one can take that away from me. Okay, enough with the drama, let’s just listen and enjoy…

I don’t know about you, but I could listen to this song on repeat until the wee hours of the morning, and am forever grateful for the country music genre πŸŽΈπŸŽ§πŸ’—
Thanks for continuously visiting my blog, for liking what I write about and for following. You are more appreciated, than I could find the words to tell you. Thanks for being a part of my blogging journey, bless your kind and caring hearts! Have a good night πŸŒ™

Driving Force

Daily writing prompt
What motivates you?

What motivates me? Love, very simply.
The powerful force, that keeps me going is the abundance of love I have for animals, my own in particular. And then, it’s the love for a select few people, who truly have importance and meaning in my life. Lastly, I want to include the love for something, that is relevant to my everyday happiness, namely music. Without love in my heart I’m lost, there’s no interest and motivation to start something, or to keep it going.

Funny Indeed!

Oh these silly quizzes, I tell you! And here is yet another one: the first three words type of quiz. Do you want to know what I found? Better still. Do you want to know how long it took for me to find three dang words? Boah! Usually I find them right quick. But today…. [crickets chirping] ….it took a L.O.N.G. frigging time. The three words I finally found are [drum roll, please] Love, Happiness and Positive Change (the latter counts as one, I guess). My reaction?
Love: I lost my belief in love quite some time ago.
Happiness: Very likely, because being happy is my choice, every single day anew.
Positive [Change]: Call me clueless. I guess I’ll have to stick around to find out.

It’s been a good laugh. And on a sad day like today, that’s really important.

Most Precious

Daily writing prompt
What personal belongings do you hold most dear?

The items most dear to me are related to Aubree. They include a blanket that I made for her for Christmas in 2012. She loved to snuggle up on or in it, especially during the very cold Wisconsin winter months.
Another precious keepsake for me, is Aubree’s last plush toy. It is a dog, that she didn’t really play with anymore in the last year of her life. But she loved to use him as a pillow, and brought him everywhere. Now, a year and a half later, he is a great comfort to me and sits on my couch, always ready to catch my tears when I miss my little angel.
I also made two picture books with precious memories of our 13 years together. And even though I carry them in my heart, it is still nice to look at the photos of her.

Another item of great value is my heavily used, quite beaten and scratched up iPod. Because right along with dogs, music is the greatest source of happiness and comfort in my life.

My rather short list of personal belongings, that I hold most dear may not seem significant or valuable, but they mean the world to me.
