Romance. That’s a topic I should steer clear of, actually. Because when you find yourself in a bad relationship with the wrong person, your top priority is how to get out of that situation instead of coming up with sweet and thoughtful ways about how to romance such an undeserving guy.
I guess the well known classic examples would be a Valentine’s Day Card, a candlelight dinner, or a romantic weekend getaway….[don’t ask a single girl ๐คฃ].
In closing, perhaps there is an ounce of romance buried somewhere deep within me. It just takes the right person to re-ignite that romantic spark, and melt away the ice block around my heart.
Downton Abbey fans, do you remember Matthew saying to Mary “I would never be happy with anyone else, as long as you walk the earth”? Followed up by their closed-eyes-kiss at the door [and Mary peeks anyway]. Aw…I love that scene so much ๐ The YouTube clip I found is a bit lengthy, sorry about that, but let’s enjoy it anyway.

Nothing Fancy
My wardrobe is low-key, because I’m not the fancy type. So with that in mind, I’ll take a pair of jeans with a t-shirt and sneakers, please. That’ll do just fine for me, thank you. I will gladly leave the dressing up pretty and sexy for those, who enjoy it.
I’m well aware of the heavily overused statement, that “you need to take pride in your appearance”, and all that jazz. Yea, you know what? Yawn! If you can’t stand to look at me the way I am, by all means leave it be. In fact, I’ll be grateful to you for ignoring me completely. Thank you ๐
Spinach, Please!
When I was a kid, a [once per week and] favorite meal was spinach with boiled potatoes and a fried egg. To the present day, it is the one meal that instantly takes me back to my childhood days.
Vive La France
It began after a family summer vacation in France, I was a pre-teen. Among other places, we visited Paris, of course. What can I say? This gorgeous city left a lasting impression on me. At the same time I inherited my brother’s record player and started browsing stores for records. Along with Kate Bush I also found Richard Clayderman. He is a French pianist, in case that you don’t know. You may have guessed by now, that I did not just fall in love with his music. A lovely and charming country, a good looking French man who happens to play the piano….jackpot! So, young Claudia made up her mind that she would move to France and marry Richard Clayderman after completing school. My parents just laughed it off and told me to keep on dreaming. Well, the crush on Richard Clayderman faded rather quickly [not the pleasure of listening to his music]. Pictures of a life in France kept twirling in the back of my mind, until I became a young adult. Towards the end of my training to be a nursery school teacher, I met my now ex-husband who is American. It was mentioned a time or 25, that I ended up going to the US with him, and lived there for 20 years [14 of them alone]. It’s funny, how life turns out so differently. But those were the experiences meant for me, the lessons I needed to learn. Who knows, maybe someday I will end up in France after all? And Richard Clayderman? I still have 3 or 4 of his cds in the sideboard, collecting dust.
Time To Discover
On the very top of my list are definitely New Zealand, Canada, Scandinavia, Scotland and Ireland.
It’s never going to happen, but a girl can dream. Besides, my “little inner whisper” would try and tempt me to stay there permanently, particularly New Zealand or Canada. And I’m quite sure, that the governments of those lovely countries would not like that very much ๐
Don’t Blink…

There. That was easy breezy lemon squeezy, yes? Have a great day ๐
What Is Luxury?
Honestly, I’m struggling with my approach to this question. What are luxury items? Well, that very much depends upon who you ask, I’d say. Many of the things we consider basic necessities are luxuries for millions of people around the globe. Things that I would consider luxuries are lifestyle items rich people have, but I can go on living very happily without ever having any of them.
So, where do we go from here? Good health is not a luxury, per se. But being able to get the needed care, whenever necessary, is becoming a luxury. Especially when your financial budget is rather small. How much value or meaning do all those luxury items have, when you’re not in good health and able to “enjoy” them? In closing, the one “luxury” I can’t live without is good, reliable and affordable medical care.
Sorry, I don’t know how to go about this in any other way. Do with my answer what you will, and have a great day!! ๐
Seeking Balance
“Seeking balance between whimsical notions and harsh reality”
** Brain fog today ** Sorry, if this makes no type of sense [to you]. Happy Sunday ๐๐
Cracks And Crumbles
Nighttime is my time, the joy of darkness and silence all around me…ahh, wonderful.
No more to-do-lists, no people to disturb, the computer is shut down for the day, no annoying neighbors playing with every power tool they own, small children are happily off in la-la-land, no demands or expectations, no more overwhelm. It’s just one small source of light [most often], my favorite songs and myself. Slowly, the wall of protection I build around myself throughout the day, begins to crack and crumble to bits and pieces. The feeling of being restricted fades rather quickly, and breathing deeply becomes much easier. My most used and much disliked accessory, ‘the mask’ can finally be taken off, and I shift from ‘auto pilot’ to my pure and basic self. There are plenty of joyous moments every day, but one of my favorites is definitely this time at night.
In Motion
It is high time to shut the computer down, when I become inattentive and fidgety. Since I don’t use instagram or another one of those ‘ever present’ apps, my phone is always in the same place. When I happen to walk by, I check for new notifications [WhatsApp usually], respond if necessary and then continue on with my day. In fact, my neighbor lady ‘encouraged’ me a few times already to check the phone more often, as it takes me too long to respond back. That should tell you, lol.
What do I do to unplug? Anything that involves movement, honestly. If the weather is nice I go for a walk. Other than that, there’s always something to do/clean in my apartment – not that it’s fun or anything, but it needs to be done as well. Another great option is a ride on my stationary bike, while listening to my favorite songs.
