Morning Walkies

Have a lovely Sunday πβ
Old Fashioned?
I’m getting up there in age, and it is beginning to show. I would not call myself resistant to technical advancements or overall progress. But some things are better, the way I know them from childhood and being a young adult. Call me old fashioned? Perhaps. And if so, is that truly negative? I don’t think so, to be honest with you. Is it wrong to evaluate for yourself, whether or not the newest craze is everything it promises to be? And if indeed it isn’t, to steer clear of it? Is it wrong, if you choose not to “follow the herd” blindly? I think not.
To everyone, who prefers Netflix to DVDs, or Spotify to CDs and digital news formats to an actual newspaper [to name a few examples], both is fine and acceptable.
However, in my humble opinion, there is one disappointing “trend” on the horizon. More and more people have quite strong and increasingly negative reactions towards everyone, who is not going with the flow on every tired, boring new thing that tries to push its way into our lives and homes. That is, where the line needs to be drawn if you ask me. It’s not about being called old fashioned. Have at it, I don’t mind. But if the “old way” is becoming a frowned upon option, and you are criticized or even worse excluded, then I would call that a problem in need of address.
The current standard as well as modern advancements can peacefully co-exist, to service and include everyone according to preferences and needs. Perhaps it would be smart, to keep a close eye on how all of this develops from here onward.
And while I do try to find the positive in all these new technical advancements, it needs to be acceptable for everyone to evaluate, to pick and choose what’s right for them and what isn’t.
Old fashioned, the way I appear to be, I will continue to watch DVDs, and turn the pages of my paperback books. Even if they collect a little dust on the shelves, there’s just something satisfying and comforting about having the physical copy of the items you like. Am I wrong?
When You Least Expect It
Holding grudges? I’m disappointed to admit, that I am guilty of being bitter and feeling resentment for long periods of time in the past. Now, I’m trying to get over doing so. These negative feelings and such anger serve no purpose, other than making my own life more miserable than it needs to be. The people who’ve done me wrong won’t be affected by my holding grudges. Besides, karma keeps a close eye on every single one of us. Those ladies and gents on my sh!t list will be taught their lessons. The timing is not up to me, I just need to have a little faith π
If It Feels Right
Maybe a cozy cottage in the rolling hills of Scotland?
Perhaps a modern home somewhere in Denmark?
Or an old farmhouse surrounded by lavender fields in France?
Okay. Let’s ignore the fact, that money would be my very first and biggest hurdle, to ever make one of those examples a reality. Even if finances weren’t the issue, I can’t tell you with certainty, that either one of those lovely sounding choices above would actually be “my personal jackpot”. Why? Because just like most aspects of my life, if not all of them, I live and make decisions based upon how something makes me feel. Ridiculous? Probably. And yet, here we are. The house “that speaks to me” may well be a small, nondescript home somewhere in one of Germany’s northern regions. Or a tiny house in a well kept mobile-home-type-setup. Important is, that I immediately get a feeling of “yep, that’s the one”. Or I could picture myself being happy there before my inner eye. There would not be a shadow of doubt about the purchase. Such a positive and prompt response or feeling, would make any house, anywhere my ideal home, regardless of whether it was crafted from wood, brick or any other material and being any particular style.
Going Home – Tyler Joe Miller
I haven’t been listening to my favorite songs lately. Usually that’s a sign, that another round of “down days” is on its way. Not so this time, I’m happy to say. Because today I found a new-to-me song. It’s called “Going Home” by Tyler Joe Miller. And yep, it’s a country tune, go figure π
I heard it once, not even all the way to its end, and I was hooked. There’s something about country music that just makes me happy. My life in America may be over, but my heart will always beat for country music. And no one can take that away from me. Okay, enough with the drama, let’s just listen and enjoy…
I don’t know about you, but I could listen to this song on repeat until the wee hours of the morning, and am forever grateful for the country music genre πΈπ§π
Thanks for continuously visiting my blog, for liking what I write about and for following. You are more appreciated, than I could find the words to tell you. Thanks for being a part of my blogging journey, bless your kind and caring hearts! Have a good night π
Second Chances
Every success story, being shared by animal rights and rescue organisations, brings tears of joy to my eyes. All these animals saved from horrible living conditions receive a second, and well deserved chance at a good life in safety with proper care and lots of love.
My heartfelt appreciation and respect goes out to all the women and men, who give all they can every day to save as many animals as possible. Tears of pure joy spill over for every animal, now living a life in safety, being happy and healthy πππΎ
It’s About Patience
What do people and a blank page have in common? Neither cares about the silly thoughts and issues that keep tumbling around in my head. The only difference is, a blank page has a lot more patience. I can “spring clean” my mind and let the drama-rama collect dust here instead. Kudos to you, if you have the patience to keep returning for more. I do very much appreciate you, because I feel more “seen and heard” here, than in real life. Thank you!! π
New To Me
I last searched online for a new-to-me [refurbished] cell phone. Not being all that tech-savvy, I was unaware, that the phone I’m currently using no longer receives security updates or support through the provider. Thank goodness I stumbled upon an article just a few days ago, discussing this topic, and yada yada yada, the new-to-me phone is on its way, scheduled to arrive today. Keep your fingers crossed, that the switch and setup will work without problems π±π€
Three Out Of One
It’s not a recipe, per se. It’s a dough made from greek yogurt, flour, herbs of choice and a pinch of salt. With this I make my own pizza, rolls [without the herbs and rolled oats instead – but not necessary] or tortilla style wraps, filled with whatever I have on hand. Of course the pizza doesn’t taste like the one you get from your local Italian restaurant, or even the frozen one from your nearby grocery store. But it’s made at home from scratch with basic ingredients. Not only do you know exactly what’s in it and you can flavor it according to your personal tastes, but you also have three options of what to make from this dough. Easy, done in a jiffy and versatile. Perfect, for me anyway.
