Rather Curious

Upon occasion I just feel drawn to something, without knowing why. This tree, though not particularly beautiful or special, just had this effect on me. Well, the mind works in mysterious ways, I guess. Happy Sunday!!

Freedom Is…

“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put
on a mask. There can’t be any large scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution,
on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.”
– Jim Morrison

I agree, do you? Have a lovely Sunday โ˜€

Spinach, Please!

Daily writing prompt
Which food, when you eat it, instantly transports you to childhood?

When I was a kid, a [once per week and] favorite meal was spinach with boiled potatoes and a fried egg. To the present day, it is the one meal that instantly takes me back to my childhood days.

Forever Gone – Dan Stone

Thanks very much for stopping by. Have a good night, and don’t let the bedbugs bite [Yah, ew, that’s a creepy mental image right before bed – good job, Claudia ๐Ÿ™ƒ๐Ÿคฃ].

Vive La France

Daily writing prompt
Write about your first crush.

It began after a family summer vacation in France, I was a pre-teen. Among other places, we visited Paris, of course. What can I say? This gorgeous city left a lasting impression on me. At the same time I inherited my brother’s record player and started browsing stores for records. Along with Kate Bush I also found Richard Clayderman. He is a French pianist, in case that you don’t know. You may have guessed by now, that I did not just fall in love with his music. A lovely and charming country, a good looking French man who happens to play the piano….jackpot! So, young Claudia made up her mind that she would move to France and marry Richard Clayderman after completing school. My parents just laughed it off and told me to keep on dreaming. Well, the crush on Richard Clayderman faded rather quickly [not the pleasure of listening to his music]. Pictures of a life in France kept twirling in the back of my mind, until I became a young adult. Towards the end of my training to be a nursery school teacher, I met my now ex-husband who is American. It was mentioned a time or 25, that I ended up going to the US with him, and lived there for 20 years [14 of them alone]. It’s funny, how life turns out so differently. But those were the experiences meant for me, the lessons I needed to learn. Who knows, maybe someday I will end up in France after all? And Richard Clayderman? I still have 3 or 4 of his cds in the sideboard, collecting dust.

Time To Discover

Daily writing prompt
What countries do you want to visit?

On the very top of my list are definitely New Zealand, Canada, Scandinavia, Scotland and Ireland.
It’s never going to happen, but a girl can dream. Besides, my “little inner whisper” would try and tempt me to stay there permanently, particularly New Zealand or Canada. And I’m quite sure, that the governments of those lovely countries would not like that very much ๐Ÿ˜Š

Don’t Blink…

Daily writing prompt
What are you passionate about?

…or you may miss my rather short answer today.
๐Ÿพ Since childhood my heart passionately beats for dogs, and it always will. ๐Ÿพ
There. That was easy breezy lemon squeezy, yes? Have a great day ๐Ÿ˜Š

What Is Luxury?

Daily writing prompt
Whatโ€™s the one luxury you canโ€™t live without?

Honestly, I’m struggling with my approach to this question. What are luxury items? Well, that very much depends upon who you ask, I’d say. Many of the things we consider basic necessities are luxuries for millions of people around the globe. Things that I would consider luxuries are lifestyle items rich people have, but I can go on living very happily without ever having any of them.
So, where do we go from here? Good health is not a luxury, per se. But being able to get the needed care, whenever necessary, is becoming a luxury. Especially when your financial budget is rather small. How much value or meaning do all those luxury items have, when you’re not in good health and able to “enjoy” them? In closing, the one “luxury” I can’t live without is good, reliable and affordable medical care.
Sorry, I don’t know how to go about this in any other way. Do with my answer what you will, and have a great day!! ๐Ÿ€

Blinded

โ€œWe have to allow ourselves to be loved by the people who really love us, the people who really matter. Too much of the time, we are blinded by our own pursuits of people to love us, people that don’t even matter, while all that time we waste and the people who do love us have to stand
on the sidewalk and watch us beg in the streets! It’s time to put an end to this.
It’s time for us to let ourselves be loved.โ€
– C. JoyBell C.

Well then, there’s another quote I can take to heart. How about you? Happy Sunday ๐Ÿ˜Š
